Q: How long does the transfer take?

We aim to apply the shares to your account within 3-5 working days of receiving your CREST form and share certificate(s). This is provided we have received all the correct documentation. It can then take a further 3-5 working days for the shares to settle on your account as we send the documents to the company registrar for approval.

Q: Can I transfer share certificates directly into my ISA?

You can only transfer share certificates into your ISA if they belong to an Employee Share Save Scheme, and if 90 days have not passed since the date of exercise. We will also require a letter of appropriation that is provided by the share-plan manager. If you are unable to deposit your share certificates into your ISA, you can initiate a Bed & ISA request . A share certificate certifies the number of shares you hold in a company. You can deposit share certificates into a Trading Account.

If you chose to transfer them to your Interactive Investor Trading Account, they will be dematerialised and held electronically.

You will then be able to view your investments online. Using your online account, you can apply for any eligible shareholder benefits and receive dividends directly.

We can only accept transfers of UK share certificates.

To deposit share certificates:

Select Cash & transfers > Transfer in from your account menu.
Select Deposit UK share certificates and click Transfer in.
Enter the company name or Epic Code into the search bar.
Choose the name of your stock from the dropdown menu. If it does not appear, go back to the previous page and search again.
Enter the number of shares you wish to transfer, your personal details and address.
Click Create Transfer Form.
The form will open in a new window. Make sure all the details match the details on your certificates exactly.
Sign the form where indicated.

Then return the form(s) and your certificate(s) to:
