In specie / full transfers - transferring your investments
You can usually transfer your account to ii without selling your existing investments. This is called an ‘in specie’ transfer.
If you choose an ‘in specie’ transfer, we will move your investments across from your existing provider into your ii account.
Please note you can only transfer your investments if you are transferring between the same types of account.
For example, you could transfer investments from an ISA (either Cash or Stocks and Shares) into an ii Stocks and Shares ISA. However, you cannot transfer investments from a general investment account directly into an ISA.
If you wish to transfer investments into an ISA from an investment account, you can make a ‘Bed and ISA’ transfer. This is where your investments are sold and transferred as cash. The same investments are then repurchased in your ISA.
The sale of shares is performed commission free, but trading fees and Stamp Duty are applied on the repurchase if applicable.

How to transfer your investments
During the initial transfer process, you will be asked to choose how you would like to transfer.
Select the option to transfer all stocks and cash held (full transfer) to keep your existing investments.
You can select to transfer specific stocks/cash only if you are making a partial transfer. If you choose this option, you can manually choose the investments and amount of cash you wish to transfer.
