Verisk Analytics buys Nasdaq subsidiary Simplitium for undisclosed sum

(Alliance News) - Verisk Analytics Inc on Wednesday said it had struck a deal to buy Nasdaq subsidiary Simplitium Ltd.

No financial details of the transaction were disclosed and the New Jersey-based data analytics and risk assessment firm said the deal is not expected to have a material impact on financial results.

Simplitium Ltd owns and operates Nasdaq Risk Modelling for Catastrophes, a SaaS platform. The acquisition will provide Verisk clients with access to 300 third-party models, providing unique, niche views of risk across the globe.

NRMC will become part of Verisk's Extreme Event Solutions, the firm remarked.

Shares in Verisk ended up 0.4% at USD299.71 each in New York on Wednesday.
